Tallahassee, Fla. – The Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) Center for Political Strategy today released the initial findings from its Q3 2026 Statewide General Election Poll showing Amendment 3 “INCREASED HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION; LOWER CAP ON INCREASES IN NON-HOMESTEAD PROPERTY ASSESSMENTS” falling below the 60% threshold needed to pass. Details were presented in detail to AIF members at the AIF Fall Political & Policy Retreat in Orlando, Florida.

Toplines: After voters were presented with the entirety of the Amendment 3 language, 53% of voters indicate they will vote for the amendment with 28% of voters indicating they will vote against it. 40% of voters indicate they will “definitely” vote for the amendment. 19% of voters remain undecided.

Geography: Amendment 3 fails to capture 60% support in any media market in the state. The strongest support originates from the Miami and Tampa media markets at 56% support each. The weakest support stems from the Orlando media market where 48% of voters indicate they will vote in favor of the amendment.

Party Support: Republicans strongly support the amendment (68%) while Democrats and Independents register 32% and 50% support, respectively. Democrats comprise the most undecided voters who skew towards rejecting the amendment by the highest margin of any political party.

Age: Younger voters under 30 overwhelmingly reject the amendment registering 36% support. 55% of voters older than 40 support the amendment.

Methodology: The AIF Center for Political Strategy poll consisted of 800 likely 2026 general election voters in Florida and was conducted from September 28th - October 1st, 2026, by McLaughlin & Associates. Interviews were collected via landlines, cell phones, and SMS/text messaging to web. Weighting was used to reflect a likely 2026 general election turnout model and consisted of 46% Republican, 32% Democrat and 22% No Major Party. The 2024 Presidential recall vote was Trump 52% Harris 39%. The margin of error is +/- 3.5% at a 95% confidence interval. Percentages may not equal 100% due to rounding.
