House Speaker Allan Bense (R-Panama City) has announced some changes to the current committee structure. During the recently completed Special Session, the Rules were modified to split the current Justice Appropriations Committee into two new committees – the Criminal Justice Appropriations Committee and the Judiciary Appropriations Committee.
In order to accommodate these changes the following appointments have been made:
• Rep. Gus Barreiro (R-Miami) has been named Chair of the Criminal Justice Appropriations Committee.
• Rep. Jeff Kottkamp (R-Coral Springs) has been named Chair of the Judiciary Appropriations Committee.
• Rep. David Rivera (R-Miami) has been named Chair of the Governmental Operations Committee to fill the vacancy created by Rep. Kottkamp’s new appointment.
• In addition, Rep. Rivera was removed from the Agriculture Committee.
