TALLAHASSEE - Today, the Florida House of
Representatives completed the second of three constitutionally mandated
duties set forth for the Legislature.
"The Florida House has maintained our focus on
serving the constituents of Florida. Over 70% of House members vote in
favor of the State House / State Senate proposal on redistricting today,
a true bi-partisan accomplishment. I'm incredibly proud of all of our
members of the House," said House Speaker Tom Feeney.
The Florida House voted to pass the proposed
Congressional Redistricting plan by 78 to 36. Then, with overwhelming
bi-partisan support, the Florida House voted to pass the State House /
State Senate Redistricting proposal by a final vote of 86 - 32.
