Tallahassee, Fla. – The Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) today released the following statement attributed to its President & CEO Tom Feeney regarding the passage of Senate Bill 156 by Senator Joe Negron (R-Stuart), relating to Motor Vehicle Licenses Taxes, by the Full Senate.

“AIF applauds the Florida Senate for passing SB 156 today off of the Senate floor.  This good piece of legislation that provides $395 million in vehicle fee reductions will deliver relief to Florida businesses and their families.

“We commend Senator Negron on his commitment to roll back the fees and surcharges imposed on Florida motorists in 2009, and praise Senate President Gaetz on propelling forward one of the key components of the Work Plan Florida 2014.”

SB 156 will now be sent to the Florida House for consideration.
