• Tampa Bay’s labor force grew 9.4% between 2001 and 2011, compared with just 6.7% in the U.S. overall.

• We have seen more than $1.1 billion in venture capital investments since 2000 and created more than 1,000 new patents in 2010 alone.

• Among the Fortune 1000 companies for 2010, 35 of them are in Florida – 9 of those 35 are based in Tampa Bay, representing several diverse and flourishing industries.
