Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda (D) was just declared the official winner in House District 9 against Peter Boulware (R).   The final vote came down to a difference of only .5053 percent, which is slightly over the amount required for an official recount.  For an official recount to be ordered, the margin separating them had to be less than one-half of a percent.

Vasilinda received 41,362 votes to Boulware’s 40,932 votes, a difference of 430 votes.  John Shaw, a No Party Affiliation candidate, received 2,808 votes.

House District 9 represents portions of Gadsden, Jefferson and Leon counties.  It was previously held by Rep. Loranne Ausley (D), who was term limited.
