2014 Election Results

With 100% of Precincts reporting, we send our congratulations to Governor Scott and the Cabinet on their re-election.

Turnout in the midterm election hit 50% and actually outperformed the 2010 midterm turnout of 49%, and 2006 turnout of 47%.  The Governor currently leads Charlie Crist by 76,747 votes, besting his 2010 numbers by 15,197 as of 11:44 pm.

The bottom line for the night is explained in simple voter turnout. Below is a table that shows counties in Florida with at least 100,000 registered voters.  The table on the left lists those counties than outperformed the state wide turnout of 50%.  The table on the right list the counties that underperformed the state turnout average.

The Florida Senate remains unchanged at 26 Republicans and 6 incumbent Democrats fell in the House, bringing the Republicans to a supermajority with 81 members.

Land & Water Conservation is now law with 73% while Amendment 2 & 3 failed to meet the required threshold by only receiving 58% and 48% approval respectively.

Election Certification

The Supervisor of Elections must report unofficial results to the Division of Elections by noon on Saturday, November 8, 2014. Once these results are received, the Division will determine if a machine recount is necessary. If so, a machine recount order will be immediately issued.

Results of a machine recount are due to the Division no later than 3 p.m., Thursday, November 13, 2014. When the machine recount results are received, the Division will determine if a manual recount is required. If so, a manual recount order will be immediately issued.

The results of a manual recount must be included in the official results that are due to the Division no later than noon on Sunday, November 16, 2014.
